With 16 community pharmacies spread conveniently across South London, Pearl Chemist Group (PCG), who has its flagship store located in the heart of Tooting, this provides flu vaccination and sexual health services.

With the flu affecting more and more people each year, PCG encourages all patients for an early flu jab. It’s either that or potentially going through the motions of aches and pains, temperature and a host of associated symptoms. We offer flu jabs in our all our Tooting pharmacies these include Pearl Chemist and Bradbury Chemist. As wells as Tooting, we also offer flu vaccinations from Wimbledon at Abbey Pharmacy, The Nelson pharmacy and Wimbledon Pharmacy.

Through our network of pharmacies, our flu vaccination service covers Sutton, Banstead, Morden, Battersea and Wandsworth and is available from every PCG branch.

In order to meet the demands of busy lifestyles, we are open 6 days a week in most branches. Although we offer a 7 day service from Pearl Chemist in Tolworth. Times may differ so please check opening times for your nearest PCG Pharmacy.

What is influenza (flu)?

Influenza is a contagious respiratory disease caused by viruses. The flu virus attacks the body by spreading through the upper and/or lower respiratory tract.

How is flu different than the common cold?

Both the common cold and flu are contagious viral infections that affect the respiratory tract. Although the symptoms might be similar, flu is much worse. A cold may make you irritable and uneasy but flu can make suffer for weeks before you start to recover.

Symptoms of influenza

  • Headache
  • Fatigue
  • High fever
  • Sore throat
  • Coughing and sneezing

When should you get the flu vaccination?

You can be vaccinated anytime during the flu season that is between September and March. Although, the best time to get vaccinated is early September. The course for flu jab is just one dose however; kids below nine years of age receiving the flu jab for the first time will need a second booster within four weeks of first dose. The PCG Tooting Flu Vaccination Service protects residents from common strains of the flu as well as provide immunity that lasts up to a year.

You can book an appointment for a flu vaccination at any of our 16 branches located across South London. You will be vaccinated after having a consultation with a pharmacist at our premises.

We aim to provide a quick, easy and pain free flu vaccination service in Tooting.
