FAQs

What makes Extra Moisturising Eye Drops different from the Dry, Tired & Irritated drops?
+

Both products are A.Vogel lubricating ophthalmic solutions containing Sodium Hyaluronate and Eyebright. The Extra Moisturising formula contains a higher concentration of Sodium Hyaluronate, providing more intensive lubricating film formation and longer-lasting moisture retention. It is suited to those with more pronounced or persistent eye dryness, where the standard drops have proven insufficient.

Who should use Extra Moisturising Eye Drops rather than the standard formula?
+

The Extra Moisturising formula is best suited to those with more persistent or significant eye dryness — such as those who wear contact lenses for extended periods, work in very dry or air-conditioned environments, or have found standard lubricating drops insufficient for their level of discomfort. If your dryness is mild and situational, the standard Dry, Tired & Irritated drops may be sufficient.

Can I use Extra Moisturising Eye Drops with contact lenses?
+

Please check the current product label for confirmed contact lens compatibility guidance. As a general precaution, remove contact lenses before applying eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting. Contact lens compatibility should always be confirmed from the specific product label.

How often can I use these drops?
+

Use as required throughout the day. Due to the higher viscosity of the Extra Moisturising formula, the lubricating effect may persist longer between doses compared to lighter drops. Please refer to the product label for any maximum daily frequency recommendation.

What is Eyebright and why is it in eye drops?
+

Eyebright (Euphrasia officinalis) is a traditional European herb with a long history of use in herbal preparations for eye comfort. A.Vogel includes it across their Eye Health range as the herbal component that distinguishes their ophthalmic drops from purely synthetic alternatives, in keeping with the brand's herbal heritage.

When should I see an optician?
+

If eye discomfort, redness, or vision changes persist despite using lubricating drops, worsen over time, or are accompanied by eye pain, sensitivity to light, or discharge, consult your optician or GP promptly. Lubricating eye drops address moisture and comfort — they are not appropriate management for eye infections, allergic conjunctivitis, glaucoma, or other clinical eye conditions.

How long does the 10ml bottle last?
+

Duration depends on how frequently drops are used and how many drops are instilled per application. As a guide, a 10ml bottle at 1–2 drops per eye, used twice daily, would last several weeks. Regardless of how much solution remains, the bottle should be discarded within the period stated on the label after opening to avoid contamination risk.
