FAQs

What is the difference between this and the Alberto Balsam Coconut and Lychee Conditioner?
+

The core conditioning performance is comparable — both are everyday moisturising conditioners in the Alberto Balsam range. The difference is in the fragrance. The Coconut Conditioner is centred entirely on a warm, creamy, tropical coconut accord — richer and more purely coconut in character. The Coconut and Lychee Conditioner adds a fresh, light lychee note alongside the coconut, creating a brighter, fruitier tropical fragrance that is slightly less creamy and more energising. The choice is purely a matter of which fragrance you prefer: pure coconut warmth, or coconut with a fresh tropical lift.

Is this suitable for dry or damaged hair?
+

Alberto Balsam Coconut Conditioner provides reliable everyday moisture and softness appropriate for normal to moderately dry hair. For significantly damaged, over-processed, or very dry hair that needs intensive repair, a dedicated deep conditioning mask or a product specifically formulated for damaged hair provides more concentrated conditioning benefit. The Alberto Balsam Coconut Conditioner is an excellent daily maintenance product — for hair with specific intensive repair needs, supplement it with a weekly deep treatment for best overall results.

Can I leave this in the hair as a leave-in conditioner?
+

This product is formulated as a rinse-out conditioner and is not specifically designed for leave-in use. Leaving a standard rinse-out conditioner in the hair can result in build-up, heaviness, and potential scalp irritation over time from the conditioning agents that are designed to be removed with rinsing. For a leave-in treatment, use a product specifically formulated for that purpose. For the best result from the Alberto Balsam Coconut Conditioner, apply, leave briefly, and rinse thoroughly as directed.

Does it make hair greasy?
+

Applied correctly — to mid-lengths and ends only, avoiding the scalp — it should not cause greasiness. Conditioner applied directly to the scalp or left insufficiently rinsed is the most common cause of post-conditioning greasiness. If you find the conditioner makes your hair feel heavy, try applying only to the ends and rinsing more thoroughly, or leaving it on for a shorter time. Very fine hair is most sensitive to this — if it persists, a lightweight or fine-hair-specific conditioner may suit your hair type better for daily use.
