How to Use Alvita Non-Sterile Non-Woven Gauze Swabs
- Wash your hands thoroughly before handling swabs for any wound-related task.
- Remove the required number of swabs from the pack. Handle by the outer folded edges where possible to minimise contact with the surfaces that will be used on the patient.
- Confirm the task is appropriate for a non-sterile swab. These swabs are suitable for: cleaning the intact skin around a wound, absorbing blood or exudate from the skin surface during preparation, applying topical solutions to intact skin, and general first aid support tasks. They must not be used for direct contact with an open wound surface or any application requiring a sterile field — use sterile gauze swabs for those applications.
