FAQs

What is the difference between an antiperspirant and a deodorant?
+

A deodorant addresses body odour primarily through fragrance and antibacterial agents — it masks or reduces the smell of sweat but does not reduce the amount of sweat produced. An antiperspirant contains an active ingredient, typically an aluminium salt, that temporarily reduces sweat production at the application site. This means an antiperspirant addresses both wetness and odour — odour is reduced because there is less sweat for odour-causing bacteria to work on. Amplex Black is an antiperspirant, providing both sweat reduction and odour control.

How often should I apply this roll-on?
+

For most people, once daily application in the morning to clean, completely dry underarm skin provides all-day protection. For those who find a single daily application insufficient on particularly active or warm days, a second application in the morning or at midday can help. Applying to dry skin at night in addition to the morning application has been shown to improve antiperspirant effectiveness for those who need maximum sweat control.

Why does antiperspirant sometimes cause white marks on clothing?
+

White marks on dark clothing from antiperspirant roll-ons are caused by the aluminium salt active being transferred onto the fabric before it has fully dried. Allow the roll-on to dry completely for a minute or two before dressing — this significantly reduces the risk of white marks. Applying a thinner layer also helps; two to three smooth strokes are sufficient rather than multiple heavy coats.

Is this antiperspirant suitable for sensitive skin?
+

Sensitive skin suitability for this specific product should be confirmed on the physical packaging before publishing. If you have sensitive underarm skin or have experienced reactions to antiperspirants previously, check the ingredient list for potential irritants and consider a sensitive formulation specifically designed for reactive skin. If irritation occurs with any antiperspirant, discontinue use and consult your pharmacist.

Can I use this antiperspirant on areas other than the underarms?
+

This product is formulated specifically for underarm use. Using antiperspirant on other areas of the body is not recommended without specific guidance — the skin on other body parts may react differently to the formula. If excessive sweating on other body areas is a concern, speak to your pharmacist or GP for advice on appropriate products or treatments.
