What Are Murrays Photo Corners Used For?
Preserving cherished photographs and memories in albums and scrapbooks is a timeless practice that many people continue to enjoy despite the rise of digital photography. Murrays Photo Corners provide the traditional, elegant solution to mounting photographs in albums and scrapbooks without applying adhesive directly to the photograph — protecting the image from damage while keeping it securely in position and allowing it to be easily removed and repositioned if needed. The 250-corner pack provides a generous supply for extensive album projects, scrapbooks, or for keeping to hand for ongoing photo organisation.
Each photo corner is a small, triangular self-adhesive or gummed corner mount that is applied to the album page at each corner of a photograph. The photograph's corners slide into these pockets, holding it in position without any glue, tape, or adhesive touching the photograph itself. This is particularly important for precious or irreplaceable prints, where any adhesive contact could cause long-term damage including discolouration, deterioration of the photo surface, or permanent bonding that makes the photo impossible to remove without damage. Photo corners allow photographs to be repositioned or moved between albums without any damage to the image, making them the preferred mounting method for collectors, family archivists, and anyone who values their photographic memories.
The 250-corner count makes this pack suitable for mounting up to 62 photographs at four corners each, or more if corners are used sparingly for smaller prints. The corners are made from a clean, neutral paper or film material that is designed to be unobtrusive against the album page, keeping the focus on the photographs themselves. They are suitable for use in standard photo albums, scrapbooks, memory books, and display boards, and are compatible with photographs of most standard sizes.

How to Use Murrays Photo Corners
- Plan your layout. Position the photograph on the album page where you want it to sit before attaching any corners, to ensure the placement is correct.
- For self-adhesive corners. Peel the backing paper from one corner. Press the corner firmly onto the album page at the position where the top-left corner of the photograph will sit. Repeat for the remaining three corners of the intended photo position.
- For gummed corners. Lick or moisten the adhesive side of the corner and press firmly onto the album page. Allow to dry for a moment before inserting the photograph.
- Insert the photograph. Slide each corner of the photograph into the corresponding mounted corner pocket. Press gently to ensure the photograph sits flat and securely.
- To remove or reposition. Gently lift the photograph out of the corner pockets. The photograph can be repositioned or moved to a different album without damage.
Tips
- Use a ruler to ensure corners are placed evenly for a neat, professional finish.
- For larger format photographs, consider using two corners on each long edge rather than just the four corners.
- If the album page surface is glossy or coated, the adhesive may not bond as firmly — press corners down firmly and allow extra time for the adhesive to set.

FAQs
Applying adhesive directly to a photograph can cause long-term damage including discolouration, degradation of the photo surface, or permanent bonding that makes the photo impossible to remove without tearing. Photo corners hold the photograph at its corners, keeping it securely in position without any adhesive contacting the image. This protects precious or irreplaceable prints while also allowing them to be removed and repositioned without damage.
Using four corners per photograph — one at each corner — the 250-corner pack will mount up to 62 photographs. For smaller photographs where only two corners are used, or for creative scrapbook layouts where corners are used decoratively rather than at all four corners, the pack will go further still.
Many photo corners, including quality brands, are made from acid-free materials to prevent yellowing and deterioration of the photographs over time. For confirmation of the specific materials used in Murrays Photo Corners and whether they are certified acid-free, please check the product packaging or contact the manufacturer directly.
