Confidential sexual health services
Most of our pharmacies have a private consultation room where our team will discreetly meet with you. Within this caring and understanding environment, our pharmacists can provide advice about contraception, sexually transmitted infections, and several other sexual health concerns.
Any test results or information given during these consultations will be safely guarded and unless you ask us to, we will not send any information to your GP or to any other healthcare professionals.
Sexual health screenings
Sexual health is important to your relationships and to your physical and emotional well-being. That’s why regular sexual health screenings help you live a happy and healthy life.
Many sexually transmitted infections (STIs) don’t present with noticeable symptoms so if you are sexually active you should routinely get checked. Comprehensive sexual health screenings and STI testing can be arranged at any of Pearl Chemist Group’s private clinic locations in South London.
Since many of our tests and treatments offer same day results, you won’t have to wait long for answers. Your results, along with full explanations from a doctor, will be given to you either by phone, email, or text. If any medicines are required, we can immediately dispense them for you. We can also point you in the right direction if you need to be referred to other organisations or clinics for more information and support.
Emergency contraception
If you have had unprotected sex or your regular form of contraception has failed, we can help if you are worried about becoming pregnant. Contact your nearest Pearl Chemist Group pharmacy as soon as possible so we can assist in providing you with emergency contraception, also known as the ‘morning after pill.’
During your private consultation, we will answer any of your questions and determine which option is best for you. Depending on the type of emergency contraception you are provided, you could have up to 3-5 days to take it to prevent pregnancy. The sooner you take it, the more effective it will be.
While the morning after pill is safe and most women can take it, it shouldn’t be your regular form of contraception. Our team can also discuss contraception options and help you find a method that works for you.
