Fungal infections, a.k.a.mycosis, are a disease of the skin that is caused by fungi. Types Of Infections
Fungal infections can occur in a variety of ways, including:

- Superficial: The most common type of fungal infection, it produces a discoloration of the skin called tinea. Symptoms include redness, itching, and occasional blistering or oozing. It is most often caused by exposure to damp, warm places, and thus frequently occurs in the feet.

-  Frequently changing socks
-  Wearing properly fitting shoes
-  Not walking barefoot, especially in places like gyms, public showers and swimming areas
-  Trimming toenails
-  Not sharing footwear with others
-   Applying the antifungal powder to shoes daily

As mentioned above, prevention is paramount when it comes to fungal infections.

Treatment
If you have a fungal infection that recurs, there are treatments available. The most common type of treatment for fungal infections is topical creams. Products like Lotrimin and Lamisil, both antifungal creams applied directly to the affected areas, are effective in treating recurring fungal infections. There are oral medications available, such as Itraconazole, are also available.
